Great trail.. most part of the trail is not paved road, but helps biking and walking/hiking. It has lot of lakes along the route and good places to take rest. Biking or walking early morning would be best, as majority of area is uncovered.

I loved this trail!!! It was very pretty. I saw a lot of wildlife like a baby snapping turtle, birds, and a few mallard ducks.

Enjoyable trail. Not too crowded. We saw a garter snake, baby snapping turtle, ducks, and many birds. There was a nice breeze off the lake and very pleasant views.

With all three kids. Beautiful night. Got to come back and go fishing. They’ve expanded the trail system. Need to explore more. It smelled really good.

Correction this loop is not located near of West Chicago (which is some distance away) but Hanover Park. Only short segment is wooded but rest of trail is nice around lake. Largest lake of Du Page Forest Preserves was stocked with big fish. Can see on one of 11 special signs (mine photo #2) for Du Page Preserves Century Trail.

Not a lot of shade, very pretty and very popular. People were walking, running, fishing, and some were picnicking

Great trail. The last loop wasn’t a loop...there was no path on the other side of the sledding hill. Also there was lots of water before the hill.

Good loop even in nasty conditions. Stay covered up, there is not much to block the wind coming across the lake.

Well kept trail. The distance around the lake is short...maybe a little over a mile

Nice little trail for shirt runs. Scenic. Run around the pond and over small bridges. Small hill up into woods, but otherwise mostly flat.

This trail was Aussome!! We loved it!! The dogs loved the easy access to the water and I loved the nice paths!! Very easy for someone with a dead leg and MS to walk comfortably!!!

The scenery is nice. Very similar to my home (Odense /Denmark). The big, low flying aircrafts, heading for Chicago, were getting on my nerves. It was SO NOISY from the crafts above. Would be nice to walk the hills of the restricted area. Try Google 'Stige Ø" (Stige Oe). I think this area has the same "history". Used to be a dump. Today a rekreation spot

Very nice 3.3 mile walk/hike. Trail starts and ends with pavement for 0.5 miles. Rest of the trail is dirt/gravel. Just over a mile of the trail winds around the eastern side of Mallard Lake. A few nice places to rest or take pictures. Def will be adding this trail to my local hikes.

A really relaxing and peaceful place to walk while being surround by nature. Beautiful wild flowers and you are so close to the lake to actually enjoy it. Many places to stop along and sit to just take it all in. Great for dogs as it's lightly trafficked and very minimal biking. The path is pressed gravel making it hard for people riding bikes to come by you at a high speed. Defiantly go back here

Nice hike around a lake. The landfill that is just west of the lake, while it's not open to walk on, it is the highest man made hill in DuPage County at 982 ft. The next closest in height is Greene Valley at 880 ft. The top of Greene Valley is open on the weekends during the summer.

Conveniently located. Much open space that takes you away from homes and traffic. Unfortunately right next to a landfill which is gross when you sit to think about it. Regardless it's an enjoyable place to escape and walk.

Built on a garbage dump, this desolate, dead-tree lined trail most resembles a post apocalyptic wasteland.

packed gravel is like an additional shock absorber for running.

Short, but cool trail and beautiful area! You cross the lake at 2 bridges and across the island. Was there mid-day on a Thursday - plenty of people (bike/walk/run/walking dogs/fishing) there is a boat ramp, but there was a box for ramp fees. Caught bluegill, small perch and bass. Saw red-tailed hawk and Caspian Tern. :)
