A great hike for a beautiful winter day. Trails go through both open mildly hilly woodlands and flatter prairie-ish areas. Trails nicely groomed for cross-country skiing.
Like other hikers have said, most of this trail is in the sun so can become unpleasant on very hot no breeze days. This trail says easy but it has more than a few elevations, one that you can visually see as you approach. This loop registered at 4 miles on my tracker. I will definitely walk this trail again but on a much cooler day.
Loved it, Packed! with birds singing and chirping :). About 1/2 of the trail is in the open/in the sun. The trail map will show the trail as green, the trail markers are actually yellow tho.. maybe just really faded. The 'scenic overlook' (aka old landfill) in only open to go up Sat/Sun 11-6. So i'll have to make another trip for that view. Not to upset about that.
The East side of Greene St. Was great. The main trail on the West side of Greene had 3 inches of fresh crushed limestone THAT WAS ALL POWDER. IMPOSSIBLE TO BIKE. Go elsewhere for biking.
Liked this a lot! Took my dog along as well, lots of mosquitos in the heavily forested areas but not bad once it becomes more open! Definitely bring bug spray.
Well maintained trail. There are two main loops, one very wooded and one out in the open. There are several options to create the distance you want to travel. It is a very flat trail. For a portion of the year, hiking to the top of a large hill provides great views.
Trail markers hard to follow
Great place for an easy family walk.
Went today for the first time. Really nice trails with good info on the floura.

I've walked this trail many times with my dog. This trail is also a great little cross-country ski trail in years when it snows. There are several options available as far as trails. The DuPage Forrest Preserve has maps in the parking lots.
Wonderful trails. Well marked. Within walking distance of my home. Shared with bikes and horses. Travels along the Du Page River. Up to 10 miles of trails available if all the loops are done.
