Lyman Woods Nature Center Loop is a 1.5 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Downers Grove, Illinois that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and bird watching.
This area is prone to mud and flooding.
Lyman Woods Forest Preserve has enough interconnected trails to create a nice walk. There's a mixture of wooded trails and wetlands boardwalks. On this January day everything was covered in several inches of snow but this would be extraordinarily nice when all the wetland wildlife is visible. The woods must be home to a number of deer as there were fresh tracks on all the trails. I will definitely be back here.
Great nature sounds and views for being tucked away in a burn. Always light drone of the road however.
This place is fantastic. Not as crowded as other places, well maintained trail and boardwalk, good birding, good signage, and good times.
Great trail! Only a few spots were hard to get the stroller through. It was fun seeing the different wildlife.
Great quieter trail but some boards covering up muddy spots and there is a lot of mud
Trail was closed at two points, and the path itself was pretty inconsistent. some overgrown grass, a few mud spots, then dirt, then some stones. That said there is a beautiful overlook at the southeast end by a lake (which I dont think you can get too). Got a close up of a blue jay as well.
