This trail includes a big chunk of the Palos Orange Trail and a couple of miles of the Palos Yellow Trail. If someone hates mud should not hike after rain, because the west portions, as well as the part after the Bullfrog Lake are very muddy after rain. NOTE: The trail is not 7.9 miles as mapped through AllTrails. It is 8.6-8.7 miles. I went around 1000 am and the trail traffic was zero.

Love the Little Red School House! Great place to bring family or go solo. The recent changes I hear are great can't wait to check it out again this summer!

I've been coming here since a little kid and it's better than ever. Great place to take the little ones and is stroller friendly!!!

We completed the Black Oak Trail at the Little Red Schoolhouse with my son's Cub Scout Pack. Always a fun time, but this time the boys were enthralled as we watched a woodpecker up one of the trees.

Great mature forest with plenty of sights but dogs are not allowed which means I will never be going there.
