There are several parking areas inside the park each associated with a campsite or picnic area marked on the map. For hikers and bikers, there are very few clues pointing to the trails; a few breaks in the woods, an occasional sign, and the map.

Enjoyed the primitive-ness of this trail. The trail is mainly clay on the portion we were on, and it was a little slippery in spots due to the rain the night before. There were two water crossings over a small stream on the route, which was cool for the kids. The area around the water was sandy rock, and there wasn't much mud there. The section around the bean field was a little strange, but we were able to stay on track due to the trampled down waist high weeds from other folks who pass through before us. Will be back to try the eastern section soon.

Fairly easy trail. Overgrown, it appears there is no trail maintance done, since we had to climb over two fallen tress.

Trails (blue) are not maintained anymore for hiking Only good for horseback riding. Growth was at least 5 feet tall in many places.

There are a lot more trails to the north of what the map shows, also their is a fair amount of road hiking if that's your thing. Beware of steam crossings, after rain the stream is impassable without getting boots wet. Old collage campus is cool to look at in the historic area.

It's a great place to start mountain biking because there are plenty of trails with good climbs and not very technical. There is a remote area that's more technical but off the normal trails. But now I prefer to bike at Wildlife Prairie Park because those trails are better maintained. These trails have deteriorated quite a bit since losing state funding and lots of poison ivy.
