Independence Grove Dog Exercise Area is a 0.8 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Libertyville, Illinois that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and birding and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

Named "Best Dog Park" by North Shore magazine. This 30-acres are just for dogs. An annual or daily permit and a dog are required for entry. Permits allow access to all four Dog Parks. Daily permits can be purchased in advance online or at a self-pay station located in the parking lot of each park. You must have a dog and a permit to enter this park. This 30-acre are just for dogs features fields and wooded areas, and a large pond for swimming and retrieving games. It is fenced on two sides with access on the west side to the Des Plaines River Trail. Annual permitallows access to all four Dog Parks. Annual permits are valid for the calendar year only, and are not prorated. Daily permitallows one day's access to all four Dog Parks.
