If you want some nature in the city, head here. Enjoy the oriels and many other birds and beautiful man made nature perks here.

Easy trail but really scenic for it being so small. Definitely beautiful in the summer if it's over 80 degrees with sunshine and little to no clouds. Ducks and birds are plentiful and the swan boats on the lake give it a unique liveliness. Would do this again for fun.

One of Chicago’s great boulevard parks. The view of the prairie style boathouse from the island is sublime in the evening. The park district has done a great job over the past several years w planting trees and creating areas for native plants and birds and butterflies. Great bronze buffaloes guard a formal garden. Terrific views of the city from the sledding hill. My only complaint is they don’t run the water pump that powers the recirculating Prarie river all the time causing a drop in water quality. But over all a great trail in the heart of the city!

Went in search of Chance the Snapper, but found a beautiful, historical Chicago park with amazing wildflowers, multiple recreational opportunities, and green space for everyone to enjoy. While the alligator is at large, some of the rentals aren't available and the east portion of the lagoon is closed to fishing, but the beach area, playground (with splash pad) and trails are open.

The lagoon was completely frozen over. Walking across, perhaps not the safest choice, allowed us to be easily spotted by the young man who had found my hiking buddy's credit card at CC Ferns coffee shop nearby. A great place to walk in winter. The snow serves this space well.
