The Woodland Trail is a short path through the woods inside of Friends Creek County Park. After turning west (Opposite of the camp ground) into the park from Friends Creek Road, follow the signs to the paved parking area on the far side of the old Bethel School. A sign in the parking area shows the way down a short path to the trailhead. Take a right to begin the Woodland Trail. The trail is well maintained, with river rock added to the mushy parts. It follows along Friends Creek for a time, but there are no bridges or crossings, unlike the Sun Trail.

very easy trail and clearly marked and well maintained. Beautiful wild flowers, prairie grass, and wooded area. Small Creek runs through conservation area and there are two bridges on the trail.

The Woodland Trail is a nice mix between the prairie of the Sun Trail and the forest of the Friends Creek trail, in a nice 1 mile distance. It shares the parking area and the approach path with the Sun Trail, which makes for some nice views of open prairie and a small wetland, then ducts into the trees and continues along Friends Creek. I was impressed by how many cool trees were present along this trail. Also, since it had been raining, I appreciated the river rock along areas where wash outs had left the path muddy.
