Didn’t have that great of a time. Lots of mosquitos, lost track of the trail a handful of times, very muddy stretches. Lightly trafficked, though.

Due to Covid-19 some entrances are closed. - Trail is washed out due to rain. Made up our own trail. - Lots of deer in the morning. -Beautiful park even tho the trails are washed out. Maybe we will try again later in summer. - Dogs okay on leash.

Main trail nice and dry, side trails still a little muddy and some dead ends, coming back after a few warm and dry days.

Dirt trail, sparingly marked Yellow trail with good views of the river. Many trees down along trail, but that is the trademark of Cook County “maintained” Forest Preserves. Between Lawrence and Irving Park, O’Hare flight path, so noisy, even with Covid19 reduced traffic. Path seemingly more maintained and quieter south of Irving Park. Robinson Woods entrance closed, so access via Schiller Woods off of Irving Park.

Beautiful trail today, not many people out. Six deer though, which was nice to see.

Gravel trail, moderate traffic. The trail near Camp Pine/Region 3 has a prairie and some interesting trail branches theough the wooded areas. A veey nice spot to visit in the fall. Some muddy spots, so hiking shoes advised.

If you like mud, this is for you. It hasn’t rained in over a week and the river water level is low, but the trail is still mostly mud. There are many down and dead trees throughout. One of my kids said it reminds him of a scene from a horror movie so not the most enjoyable nature scene either. Perhaps if the trail were completely frozen it may be more enjoyable but there was so much mud we took the main road back, despite the lack of a sidewalk to do so.
