Nice shade, lots of greenery. Some trails need maintenance. Several people have their dogs off leash. Would have given 4 stars except for the constant noise from airplanes.

We couldn’t complete the trail shown here as it was muddy . We were not able to see the trail along the Des Plaines River . We had to walk back .

We really didn’t do the trail because we took a wrong turn early on. That said, we wouldn’t have been able to continue if the actual trail was as bad as the little bit we did. The problem with this terrain under these conditions is that you can only look down. If you look up for even a few steps, you could easily fall down.

This probably could’ve been a great trail but due to recent rain fall it was extremely overgrown and washed out/ muddy. At one point we had to turn back because we lost the trail along the river and it seemed to be flooded. We went hiking back to the main path and realized it for sure was flooded and we would’ve been stuck. If you do this, make sure to stay on the marked trails for now. Maybe after the river goes down you can do this trail.
