HikingGreat!

Love this park. Note, we hiked, not mountain biked. Though we are mountain bikers and would love to come back to mountain bike. We did the trail per the AllTrails map. Trail 7 though was not as nice for hiking as the other trails in the park, but looked great for mountain biking. For hiking the trails other than trail 7 were much better. Trail 7 goes along the edge of the park. Has great mountain biking technical sections, but for hiking is not that scenic as are on the edge of the forest with ravines on one side and open fields on the other. For hiking, the trails other than trail 7 are much more scenic are are in the interior of the park and are hiking in the ravines and near the stream with the lush undergrowth and bridges.

Nice trails for mountain biking. They have some solid flow, and some good technical areas. Well built bridges crossing the creeks and muddy areas

New to mtn biking but I am enjoying it so far! Since starting, this has been the first and only trail I’ve tried.. so my review probably isn’t super helpful but I will say that these trails are fun to me and I like all of the dips!

Well kept trails. Many options, ie, hills and flatter areas. Surprised at the steep valley in Central IL! Log cabin there looks intriguing. Hiked in spring time so a few blooms. Bridges were nice! Only a couple people on bikes.

This is my favorite hike in the area. Trail 7 is a great long hike with a switchback within the first 1/3 of the hike and everything easy thereafter. After the first mile, people are rare and deer are plentiful. I run across lots of wildlife on this loop. The bridges are always fun and the local bike group keeps them, as well as the trails, in good shape. The trails are well marked. Bring bug spray. Great summer hike as the shade is excellent. However, muddy after a rain when hikers are discouraged.

Beautiful park with excellent trails that are well marked and well maintained. Route: BPP 1 > 2 > 3 > 5 > 6 (loop) > 5 > 3 > parking. Trail Conditions: very good, no major obstacles or wash-outs. Traffic: light. Only saw 2 mountain-bikers. Cautions: watch your footing ... MANY exposed roots on the trail.

Since it's been raining, it was a slick trail and real muddy. The scenery was okay, I liked that we were the only ones out on the long trail. Didn't see anyone while out. Saw bunnies, deer and a snake. I think this trail would be a great Fall hike once the leaves begin to change colors!

Great workout and beautiful scenery, what more could you ask for in a hike. On a side note make sure you wear/bring bug spray, the deeper in the woods the more bugs there are.

After traveling "3,7,6,5, out on 3 (5.3 mi trail outlined above) the trails were excellent and we saw a wide variety of wildlife from turtles to deer. There was plenty of tranquil sounds from numerous streams and brooks. Great for moderate to easy hiking and challenging for bikes in places on 7.

Great little, well maintained trail. I haven't been out there for a couple years but it was a lot of fun.
