Pretty trail through the forest; seems almost magical at times. Not a lot of views except at the Indian Trail intersection. I would rate it "easy" instead of "moderate" since it's rather flat. This is a great time of the year to hike it since the trail is not (yet) overgrown.

As others have said, this is just over 8 miles, not 6.3. Decent hike but not much to see. If it’s hot, go very early as it’s a mostly exposed trail with very little tree cover. Overgrown in a lot of spots but easy to follow.

This hike ended up being close to 8 miles and is integrated with four other trails: Indian Cliffs, Plummer Creek Fire, Shoeffler Butte and Mullan Road Trail. It's possible to make this as long or as short of an outing as you like. Hiking an Easy incline on the "road" up with well marked trail signs, plenty of shade, and a variety of plants and animals. For more active individuals, this would be a better mountain biking or trail running area. Great place for dogs. Definitely stop at the Visitor Center and get a free map. Also, there are three parking areas to access the trail of the Coeur d Alene's biking trail.

Good loop trail. We followed the road. Then We did the extra 1.5 hike at the top. When going back down we accidentally went down part of Mullen trail( as it was a road which added another mile to our hike) we got back on the trail which narrowed. The trail was full of wildflowers. Mostly just forrest scenery. I am glad we went the way we did as it seemed steeper going back down.

Loved it! Only met one other group of two. My mileage showed 8.33 with mapmyrun. Few blow downs here and there. Great trail.
