It was a fun hike. It was very windy at the top. It seems to be popular with bikers, but it wasn't too busy on a Sunday after when we went. It was very dry and dusty as well.

Mostly clean, pretty easy. Signs got a bit confusing. Lots of places to get out of the way of other hikers or mountain bikers.

Great trail. Lots and lots of mountain bikers after work got out. 5pm ish and on. Decent bit a little dangerous with my dog and bikers dashing by. The are typically nice. Just lots of blond corners and dangerous going up hills with them flying down. Vigilance is necessary here big time.

Looks way more fun for mountain bikers but I still had a great time! Took my 14 week old puppy with me and she did the trail with no problem-- just a couple water breaks!

Good little hike if you don't have much time, although I would consider this easy, not moderate. You have to share with mountain bikers, but everyone's pretty courteous. Ok for dogs, but lots of narrow walk ways so can be hard to keep your dog by your side... more like in front or behind you. Lots of cheat grass, so just make sure you check your pups feet and ears when you get back! Overall, it's a nice hike.

This was fun for the boys, dog and I. It was easy enough for them all, and short enough to keep their interest. We only stayed on the Veterans Trail and didn’t go on the Big Springs Loop. The only challenge with young kids is that there a lot of mountain bikers so it was tricky to navigate in some parts, but all the bikers were very nice even when the kids were in their way a bit. Definitely go in the morning before it gets hot.

This is an enjoyable hike! We went Sunday, April 26 around 1pm. The weather was perfect which enhances any hike. I liked that it wasn't terribly crowded and there are some really pretty views. We had to step off trail about a dozen times to let bikes pass but compared to other trails that wasn't too bad. The trails are well worn. There were large yellow bushes almost full bloom that smelled amazing and single stalk purple flowers and ground cover purple flowers almost in full bloom. The trail is beautiful in the way it winds up the hill side. However, the loop part runs past the back of a neighborhood and some of the views are of bulldozed land side which detracted from the asthetics.

Dogs must be on a leash throughout hike. “Dog friendly” title is misleading.
