Lovely trail along the stream with fall colors abundant. Only came across 3 other people the entire hike! There is quite a bit of horse droppings but otherwise the trail is in pristine condition.

An overnight trip to Upper Palisades Lake. There’s an incoming storm so it’s kinda windy but the views were incredible and the leaves are breathtaking.

Gorgeous trail! A lot of incline/decline made it a great workout. The lake was beautiful and my dog enjoyed cooling off. We were confused on where the lake was, but if you go a few minutes passed the clearing you’ll find it!

If you are a true beginner like I am, this trail was a challenge but definitely do-able! I wanted to give up and turn around but I'm glad I didn't. The hike was absolutely beautiful. The leaves are a vibrant green, orange, and red. I felt like I was in a movie. The trail was easy to see but beware of the horse poop. Bring lots of water and go earlier than 3pm so you can get back to your car before dark. Lesson learned. I highly recommend this trail!

I only recorded on the way in. This Hike was fabulous. Clean trails (other then horse poo) but over all the hike was very doable. The leave are turning colors, and some are falling already. Beautiful place to explore and hike.

Nature tripsGreat!

Really enjoyed this trail in late September. After a strenuous hike a few days before, this was a great recovery trail. Not too much elevation change but still a decent cardio workout.

Trail was well shaded, very light traffic. You walk along the river almost the entire time and it ends with a beautiful view of the lake (before you turn around). More horses than other trails but beautiful trees and water. Relatively flat, not too much elevation change. Good for a long recovery hike.

I love this hike! It has beautiful scenery, bridges, and the sound of the water along the trail. We had good shade areas, spots to rest. Its my favorite trail. We went to lower lake and back, enjoyed it very much!

Such a beautiful hike. And so worth it to get to the upper lake. It’s pretty leisurely until you get to the first lake and that’s where the incline and tougher part comes. We saw a moose on our way down and a few garter snakes on the trail as well. Just be aware of your surroundings.

We hiked only to Lower Palisades but definitely worth the views. We didn't have time to hike to upper but would have loved too. Not too rough of a trail. Glad I could take my dog with me. The trail follows the creek for the most part nice for my dog to take sips of water throughout the hike.

This hike was awesome, and well labeled as moderate. We only went to the lower lake (4.3mi in) but heard that the hike gets harder past the lower lake. The campgrounds for the lower lake are just before the lake itself but the trail is not well labeled to reach the actual lake, just follow the trail you were on. We hiked it from 12-4 and it was probably 1/2 shaded but the river water is clean and drinkable so that is a plus. Gorgeous the whole way.
