SEASONAL ROAD CLOSURE: Roads leading to this trailhead are subject to seasonal closure. For more information, please visit https://www.fs.usda.gov/alerts/payette/alerts-notices. The Trail Creek Hot Springs is accessible right off the main road which follows the path of the river, but not visible from the road. Feels like you are fully immersed in nature, surrounded by mountains, rocky outcrops and lots of pine trees. The path to get down to the river and hot springs is a steep, winding, dirt packed path which requires stable footing and climbing capabilities. Two separate pools with lower pool water being warm but not necessarily hot. Upper pool is hot but temp can be controlled with valve that can be opened to allow cold river water into the hot spring.

Well that was the scariest trail I’ve ever done. Very very steep and even more slippery. I went down like on a slide. It WAS Worth the hot water. Soo beautiful! Not so much the pile of 20 year olds and all their alcohol. And maybe not the slippery 20 mile drive. I’ll do that again in the summer.

Nature tripsGreat!

This place is awesome! We drove two hours from Boise, so we were really hoping it'd be worth the drive. It was pretty crowded, two days before Christmas. Water is plenty hot to soak, there's a steep trail on the way down but it is short and you can glissade down if you want to. Also, I made this little review of it on my Youtube. This place is picturesque and worth visiting! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iEIYbrziD-g&feature=youtu.be

Upper pools crowded so did not get to enjoy them. But it was pretty. Touched the lower hot spring pool—nice and warm!

Highly recommend this hot spring! Accessible right off the main road which follows the path of the river but not visible from the road. Feels like you are fully immersed in nature. Surrounded by mountains, rocky outcrops and lots of pine trees. There were only two other groups of people to share the pools with but it was a cold, rainy day.

visited on 7/3/20 a sheriff was there when we arrived....we asked him if we could access and go down, he said yes we were good to go. These are my favorite springs, but they are definitely highly trafficked.

Hot springs is well used even if 'closed'. Steep trail down to the pools - two main pools - upper and lower. We were in the upper one and enjoyed it - just the right depth to sit on the pebbly floor and have water up to our shoulders. The water can be very hot but there is a valve you can open to let in cold water from the creek to make the water temperature just right! Take bug spray as the horse flies and other bugs are fierce and persistent,

It is open (June ‘20)! Was always full while there with several big and small groups visiting. Beautiful. We had 10 adults and 3 kids in one pool. Steep from parking to hot springs but definitely worth it.

The trail leading down to any of the three springs is still largely snow covered but if you have close toed footwear with any grip and you pay attention, you will be just fine!

Not technically a “hike” but it is an incredibly awesome hot springs. There are two small pools that are usually full of people. The water is great and it is relaxing. Definitely going back.
