HikingGreat!

We did this counterclockwise much more shade this way going up and wonderful views going down gives you time to take it all in! Bring lots of water and I found little spots of shade to rest. My kids loved this trail once we got the climb out of the way.

Lots of grouse for the first mile, if you go counterclockwise. Trail is also overrun a bit at the beginning. Went late in the afternoon, not much coverage so bring water and a hat or go earlier in the day. The view of Baldy at the top is pretty spectacular. Hard to run down, if you’re a trail runner, lots of loose gravel and rock. Definitely better to hike this trail in late May early June with the wildflowers.

Great hike. Early morning got a little chilly at the start but once you get a bit higher it def warms up. Sadly most of the flowers that are prevalent on this hike are gone.

Beautiful hike. FYI majority is exposed/unshaded which was tough on our black lab.

Some spicy downhills with scratchy sage brush, uphills kinda sucked cuz you had to pop off the bike and walk it a lot but very scenic my man

Wildflowers are abundant. Signs of bear and elk in the area. Came across a badger at the first viewing area (counterclockwise). Highly recommend for a quick hike (1.5 hours)

Counterclockwise. 2 hours total at a relaxed pace. Great panoramic view. Some fresh bear scat along the creek.

I really enjoyed my hike out Taylor Canyon today. It's just north of Ketchum. Like others, I recommend going counterclockwise. It was a little steeper than I anticipated, but there is plenty of shade in the pines after the initial valley. The views at the top are amazing. Right now the wildflowers are in bloom which added so much beauty to the experience. I highly recommend this hike.

Awesome loop. We went counter clockwise. First mile is gradual up hill through a pretty valley, next section is fairly steep up a narrow draw through trees to the top, then it is fabulous views along the ridge top.

We hiked today May 31 started counterclockwise. Once you get to the summit the mountain peaks views are breathtaking. This is truly an amazing hike. I would have preferred to go clockwise to eliminate the descend on the rocky path. Overall one of the best in our valley. Enjoy.

Absolutely spectacular views, great trail. Definitely second the recommendation to go counter clockwise - both for the views and to have uphill in the shade. You can see all of the major mountain ranges and favorite Ketchum spots.

The first mile or so has you wondering why you’ve chosen this hike (flat, nothing to see), but once you start climbing, the views do not disappoint. Going counterclockwise makes for the best views, but a steep descent. 5/26/20

Great hike with incredible views. Slightly steep but worth it! We were only in the area for 24 hours and did this hike in the morning, followed by Proctor Mountain Trail in the afternoon. It was a perfect combo!

I'm here in the valley as a travel nurse and trying to get as much hiking in as I can over the next few months. This has been my favorite hike so far! Absolutely beautiful views of the surrounding mountains! I went counter clockwise. I think either way you go it will be steep. I found it to be hard but soooooo worth it! I would love to go again!!!

Great trail with some steep areas and great views. Start with consistent climb if you follow the creek up and back down is very steep. Worth the trip

My husband and I really loved this trail! We did the trail counter clockwise, however doing so, we missed a few obvious turns. Not experienced hikers!

Nice hike with good views of Big Wood River Valley. Best to go on a cooler day since most of the trail is exposed. If you go counter-clockwise, you get to look at the view from the top as you walk, rather than have it behind you, and the one really steep section is the only area that is shaded. Clockwise almost all of the uphill is exposed.

Start with a climb then it’s open fields of flowers, practically flat area. Small up and down inside forest. Beware of bikers. It’s narrow and they go fast!! A post indicating the trail direction was down. Take a left at that spot.
