Stroud Lake is 3.2 miles each way from the trailhead. The first half of the trail is an easy hike--gradual incline. The last half of the trail is very rocky and has several steep inclines. The lake itself is "small" compared to other alpine lakes in the area. There is really only one good camping spot on the lake. The fishing was poor--very few fish in the lake and those caught were small (less than 6") brook trout. Otherwise, it was quiet, serene and good for a late September hike and overnighter.
