Beautiful view of the river the entire time. Needed a somewhat level hike for my 37 week pregnant body and this hike was perfect! Loads of bicycles. Just went to the Oregon Trail Rut plaque about 1.5 mi from the trailhead/fishing area (you go under the highway just before you reach it). We took our dogs. We loved it and will go back someday to explore more! Today wasn't bad, but I'd be cautious in the summer because there's very little shade. $5 State Park day fee

This trail has a beautiful view of the Snake River, including palisades, swooping birds and local flora. I would not rate it moderate but we were only able to cover a segment of the trail due to limited time. There was not a lot of shade, so prepared for a warm walk during the summer.

We were short on time so we only did a portion of the Snake River Walk -- and it was beautiful. Great photo opportunities (river, trees and flowers, the volcanic rocks that are ubiquitous in the region, and a diverse population of birds.) If you do the river walk trail, make sure you take the side loop (Vard Meadows Trail Loop). This trail will take you up a hill, allow you to wind in and out of volcanic rocks, and place you quite a bit higher than the river so you can look down on the scenery. The park has a large selection of campsites, a disc golf course, and an adequate Visitor Center. The only (unavoidable) downside: the park's location (right next to a major highway) ensured that heavy traffic noise permeated the area. You can download a map of the park using this link: https://parksandrecreation.idaho.gov/sites/default/files/uploads/documents/Massacre%20Rocks/Images/8x14%20color%20trail%20map%20march%202013.pdf

This is a well maintained trail with lovely overviews.

This is a very short, nearly level hike to a spot where wagon ruts on the Oregon Trail are still visible. It is neat to see the historical site, but the hike is along and under the interstate, so the walk itself isn't great except for a view of the river toward Eagle Rock.

Nice views of the river and landscapes. Easy going. Trail can be accessed from the westbound rest area. Really nice place to stretch your legs.
