Snake River Canyon Rim Trail is a 12.3 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Twin Falls, Idaho that features a waterfall and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for walking, running, and road biking and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
A paved trail with beautiful canyon and waterfall views. Please be aware that the falls do not run all year (seasonal variations). The trail surface is paved asphalt and typically at least six feet wide. The grade is steep (over 8% in areas) so wheelchair and stroller users may need assistance.
I was the only bike I saw but no one really seemed to mind. Great alternative to driving to Shoshone Falls.
This recording is an out and back from the visitor center to west parking lot on Washington, then to the east parking lot on Eastland, then across the bridge and back. Shows the new sections of trail. Ps I was on a bike except for the bridge
Easy walk with lots of foot traffic but the views are worth every bit of it! Pics don’t so it justice.
Very beautiful canyon views! You can see Canyon Springs golf course down below, and it’s perfectly manicured and suuper cute - looked almost like hobbitland to me. The trail is paved, wide enough and pretty flat (at least at the start) - overall we all really enjoyed and it was a highlight for us! :)
A nice paved trail along the canyon. Have walked/jogged/biked it numerous times from the end by Elevation Restaurant all the way to Shoshone Falls. Overall, its super easy and not much elevation change until you are going down/up at the Shoshone Falls end. It is mostly in direct sunlight, so it can get hot. But also it can get very windy up on the rim. Highly recommend this trail for a easy stroll or bike ride with some amazing views.
More of a walk than a hike. We walked about 1 mile in the vicinity of the bridge. We also got to see a few parasailers, that was fun!! I enjoyed this trial, though as many said, this popular section is paved and quite flat. However, you can get some amazing views of the bridge and into the canyon.
One of my favorite trails to walk/hike. It has been extended and connected, so one can look forward to great views of the canyon and river continously for several miles. From Shoshone Falls to the Evel Knievel jump site, there are some pretty steep hills, so I wouldn't put that part of the trail in the 'easy' category, but the 'moderate' category. I have seen hawks and eagles, porcupines, beavers, 'rock chucks,' and various other birds and wildlife. It's peaceful and beautiful.
It’s kinda confusing because a lot of it is not connected but I enjoyed myself
This is more of a walking trail than a hiking trail. It is paved throughout and in various stretches, you may walk along the Snake River (beautiful with waterfalls and dramatic vistas), near a busy road or through a residential neighborhood. During our visit the end near Auger Park was blocked due to construction. One can drive to the parks at either end of the trail and enjoy walking portions of the trail there as well.
This trail is heavily trafficked. Heads up that bullsnakes can be found sunning on the black pavement in the afternoon. Completely paved trail, beautiful views with a few benches at lookout points. Evil Kanevil's jump site is along this trail, south side of trail near Hankin's Rd, with a billboard containing information. For a real treat, visit at sunrise or sunset!
This is a paved walkway inside Twin Falls with several good viewpoints of the canyon and the 486-foot-high Perrine Bridge. If your timing is right, you may even see base jumpers. If you're not too afraid of heights, you can add to this by crossing the bridge on the walkway on one side, walking under on the north side, and crossing back on the walkway on the other side.
Paved trail, but unbelievably gorgeous views, especially at sunrise and sunset. Flat and straightforward, but such a unique experience running alongside a canyon ridge so high up. Highly recommended if you are in the area and want an easy run/bike/walk with awesome views.
Nice concrete trail with a beautiful view of the Snake River. I ran this trail several times when I stayed in Twin Falls in late May 2017. There were waterfalls, marmots, ground squirrels, and a variety of riparian birds along the trail as well. There is plenty of parking at the visitor's center. People were parasailing off of Perrine Bridge; it was neat to watch.
