Getting There

Short, paved trail from the parking lot of Shoshone Falls City Park up to the high observation deck. Accessibility: The trail surface is paved and it is typically at least five feet wide - it is wheelchair and stroller friendly to the first observation deck. Past that there are steep sections with an estimated grade above 12%, however, so wheelchair and stroller users may need assistance.

There are restrooms and a gift shop at the main parking area.

The deck itself can be slippery. Tread carefully!

From Twin Falls, travel east on Falls Avenue East, then turn north onto North 3300 East, which turns into Shoshone Falls Grade. There is a $3 fee for vehicles entering the park.

We were there in February, so the water flow was minimal. Still, was a beautiful location.

WalkingGreat!

The trail was super accessable and paved. there are stairs, but the railings are nice. The falls were beautiful and I am really happy we went. This is a fast little trail and great for those not too athletic individuals.

Beautiful falls, right out of the parking lot - but if you walk a bit you can get a different perspective and a quieter view. You can take the dirt paths which we did to get to the platform, where there is an incredible rock arch and a barred owl flew right over my head. Took the easy way back on the paved trail. Perfect view of the Falls. Nice easy walk, most people just go to the observation deck before driving off - not walking this short route, which means you can get nicer photos if you walk along a little.

The trail to the uppermost observation deck was not clearly marked and had random chain link fence that didn’t look particularly well installed. Since this is the type of hike is an easy/for family type hike, but it didn’t seem safe to all the observation spots, not a great option because mostly just an observation deck with two spots. The falls are still impressive, so that’s why it gets three stars from me. I would also advise going in the morning to avoid crowds, it definitely detracts from being able to enjoy taking the falls in.

Don't wait to the last minute to make a trip into these gorgeous waterfalls - you'll want to visit them earlier in the day before the lines at the entrance get too long. Well maintained, easy walking trails allow access for anyone. Even visiting in July during the driest season of the year, the falls were impressive. Dogs on leash are allowed, but if they are not well behaved I encourage you to leave them at home as crowds can be a little thick.

Beautiful! It is easy walk to the falls from the parking lot. I would suggest following the path to the left to see the different viewpoints without the crowds.

HikingFeeGreat!

Beautiful views... not much of a hike. Just a nice little stroll. But definitely worth checking out. Can get busy on the weekends/holidays with tourists however. And during the summer you do need to pay the fee to get into the park. Or just walk down there from the other side of the canyon rim trail.
