Four-wheel initiation of Yota. Great fun. And my truck did well too.
This trail was absolutely awesome. We took quads. Beautiful views. Saw hawks, sheep, creeks, Forrest’s. Great summits and peaks and places to stop for picnics.
pretty easy road in late spring throughout summer. I use to skip school and take this road into Idaho City. Do not take a Pontiac Grand Am down this road in April. I tore my car up in 2000, either you drive in the ruts and scrape up the bottom on you drive on top of the ruts and run the risk of sliding off the mountain. However, I'm older and somewhat wiser and now drive a Ram 1500. I still wouldn't drive this road early spring. I drove my truck up and around this road and side roads during hunting season one year and they're good roads. I would drive my ATV on this road all day and explore more side roads.
Do not take this trail from October-April. Backside of the mountain was completely iced over and my friend and I both crashed due to the ice on the road. We were both in 4x4 digs that were more than capable of taking on the trail had we not encountered the severe ice. They need to have some signage warning of the conditions to prevent someone from getting seriously injured.
Lots of traffic on the ada county side. Easy ride. Looped off onto the river bed at the end which was the best part.
good test trails nothing extremely hard. don't really need 4wheel drive...
Great trail for any skill level. We went here for my first off road trip in my new truck. The main trail is pretty much just a dirt road but it splits off and gets much more technical. I did have to use 4x4 in a couple places, nothing too insane though. I recommend this spot for anyone looking to have fun in a 4x4 truck, SUV, or OHV!
Great beginner trail, splits off at a few places to give you different options. I would recommend starting at both ends at different times, it’s a different trail depending on which direction you come from. At the summit of the trail, it splits off and goes up the ridge and connects with the 8th street hills gultch trail or can go all the way to bogus. Best trail in the mountains above Boise I think..
