Beautiful views of the river. Rocky in some places and sandy in others, but not hard at all. Would do again!

Hiking

I enjoyed this hike. I ended up doing close to 11 miles, with frequent stops for photos and a lunch break, it took me 5 1/2 hours. The river is beautiful to hike along during the first part and there were a few fly fishermen in boats. It’s a long hike but almost no elevation gain so it makes it doable. I didn’t see anyone after the first mile on the trail, which was surprising for a Saturday! Things to note: The directions to the start took me to private land (there may have been a dirt road that is public but I wasn’t going to try it.) I drove the short distance to the Celebration Park campground and parked there. (Bathrooms were open too.) Wear pants. I wore shorts because of the high temp but ended up constantly pulling out spurs from my legs (more annoying than painful). This added time since I was frequently stopping to pull them out. Bring more water than you need. I went through 3 L and finished it about 1/2 mile before the end. A hat and extra sunscreen is a must. There is no shade. Part of the trail is sand which is not the most enjoyable thing to walk in but it doesn’t last forever. Watch your map on on the way back, some of the trails are harder to see. I took an unplanned 1/4 mile detour on another trail but realized it and made my way back. Overall, I’d recommend it!

HikingGreat!

Very open, good places to fish along the snake river. I sat for about 30 mins watching fish jump. Was super windy when I was there and 4x4 recommended to get down to celebration park.

The loop took a little under 2 hours on mountain bike. Parts of the trail had deep puddles. A lot of the trail is sand. Overall really fun and great views!

Great trail. Done on a windy sunny day April 12. Don’t miss the Native American rock houses on the lower trail!

Good walking/trail running trail. Start early if you want to beat the heat. Would be good for hikes as long as it’s been dry out. Watch out for snakes if you have dogs!

First to Review

We kayaked the river. We started about 2 miles down from the dam. I would not recommend for new kayakers as there are several rapids.
