Polecat Short Loop is a 3.5 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Garden City, Idaho that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from April until October.
Nice moderate trail. Some parts are pretty narrow so no good place to pull over for bikers on occasion and the parking lot is small, but the views are nice and I enjoyed the hike overall. I recommend downloading the map and following it as this loop is a combination of a few trails. Happy hiking!
I missed my turn.... again.... but was a very nice day so I didn’t mind.
Great trail. Dependable. Easy to make it a quick brisk walk before sundown. Not too steep but a good workout nonetheless. Had cell service and a bomb playlist the whole time! Also, it’s def a leash trail. Had a ranger stop me but be sweet and let me and my pup go :)
Great trail! Got a little winded climbing the first big hill because I didn’t see it coming but was an overall easy hike with minimal climb. Beautiful view at sunset as well :)
It was a great workout with beautiful views! Keep your app GPS on if you want to stay on the “short loop”. It’s easy to miss and keep going. There was a handful of mountain bikers and hikers.
Great trail, there was about 10-15 other cars parked there when we went in the afternoon. Hikers and bikers were there, and even some kids with families. Pretty easy most of the route to step to the side for people/bikers to pass.
Lots of mud today on the first half mile! Will probably last until tomorrow. Be careful and avoid this trail if you can while it dries out
Basic single track, minimal scenery, lots of bikers and hikers
