Hiked 7/5/20 in the morning. Beautiful trail and views. Well maintained. Quite a lot of shade. No bugs. No mud. Some wild flowers blooming. For those who would prefer, you can make it shorter. I noticed 2 areas with benches and nice views at lower elevations.

This clocked in a little under 8 miles- not 6 miles. Poles would be helpful ! Go early! Beautiful views.

Fun hike up roughly 3.5 miles and 2600 ft of elevation. It does get muddy towards the top, that’s when you know your getting close. It’s a hike, so enjoy nature and embrace it. It is not as it sounds. Beautiful rock face overlook at the top and 2 benches to sit and relax. Great for pictures and a packed lunch.

Well maintained trail, beautiful swaths of lupine and many views of the lake. I love how you can weave up through the forest and find yourself in subalpine with beargrass and rock outcroppings.

Beautiful views of the lake and town, especially at the top. The view is a well earned reward, the ascent isn't easy.

I did this hike yesterday and there is basically a small stream of water that goes down a good part of the trail but is avoidable for the most part. Right before the top it gets very muddy so expect your shoes to be covered in mud before the end. Also, the trail is very steep so it was more difficult than I expected. There is lots of beautiful foliage along the trail and beautiful views along the way.

Fun trail. Mostly dry until you get closer to the top where there is some remaining snow and trees blown down, but totally doable.

Hiked with a group on May 16th. Nearly all the snow is melted and the trail was a bit muddy, but in good shape for the most part. Bug spray is a must. Moderate is the perfect rating. The climb is gradual but it is a calorie burner.

Pretty good shape on May 4th, like others have said wear waterproof shoes or boots and there are a couple downed trees you have to walk around and over near the snow line. Came home with a tick on me so be sure to apply bug spray liberally and throw your gear in the drier when you get home

Gorgeous time to hike this trail. I added photos so you can get an idea of what to expect. Absolutely perfect conditions. Only a little mud. You will encounter bugs and my dog picked up several ticks, but it’s worth it.

Did this trail May 3rd. Decent workout on the way up. Not too intense but steady. There was still some snow the last 3/4 mile or so. It was causing a stream to run down the trail in spots. I did this in trainers and my feet got a little wet so something waterproof would be good this time of year. Views were good, although it was snowing and a bit cloudy from the top. There were a few trees down but nothing major blocking the trail.
