Lower Mesa Falls is a 10.4 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Ashton, Idaho that features a waterfall and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking and birding and is best used from May until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail.

Mostly easy out-and-back hike. The first four miles of this trail follow a gated FS road, then it's all bush-whacking. The 500-foot descent to and ascent from the falls is very steep. Most people see the iconic falls of Island Park from the overview, atop the cliff on the other side of the Henry's Fork. This destination is only feet away (don't fall in).

Wouldn't consider it a hike. It's more like something you drive up to and get a few pictures then go back home. Still beautiful though
