This trail requires canyoneering. It is in an area that is heavy with poison oak. Meet at Jump Creek to explore the Poison Creek Waterfall. Upon arrival, you will see that the east side of Jump Creek had been burned by a range fire. The fire burned off the "Cheat Grass" down to Jump Creek and several stock/game trails heading up the east side to the top are now in clear view. The fire appeared to be confined to the east side of the creek. Mounting up, travel on the Poison Creek Grade Road and then east on the rough two track road to the Waterfall. The road to the falls is on a side hill and care should be taken on it. The waterfall has a very low flow, it may be different depending on the season. The fall appears about 30 feet in height and should have a lot more flow in the spring. Poison Ivy is thick in this area and the habitat is perfect for rattlesnakes. Be careful!

So we went last Thursday afternoon, I would definitely go in the morning! We went in there were tons of ppl and kids so overly packed on the lower trail. We wish we had the upper trails. Still really beautiful views and lots of fun.

Great trails to choose from. Taking the tip trail is better just because you get the ridge views and less people. Only thing is it is steep on the way down and loose gravel which can be challenging for some.

Definitely more difficult than it appears. dont let the short distance fool you, there is enough uphill here that you'll really feel it. It is more than worth the climb however as the views of the gorge are spectacular as long as you dont mind heights too much.

Nice, wide and well maintained trail. Not many folks out today (a Monday). Definitely a good hike with great views. If you park at the first lot then head up to the right, it’s wicked steep up to the plateau but once you get there there’s a bunch of cool rocks in towards the canyon that you can go out onto to really have some incredible views. Seems like the initial elevation gain scares off most people. The lower lot with the hike in the canyon to the waterfall is definitely a bit busier with lots of kids, etc.

Amazing trail. Hiking to the top at the start is pretty steep, but if you keep going and venture towards the left side behind the canyon that the waterfall is on, you’ll see an endless beauty of canyons that will take your breath away. You have to get off path a little to get there, but it’s worth the view.

Beautiful trail with some nice elevation gains. The waterfall is an added bonus. Lots of cool rock formations to check out as well!

Great trail with beautiful views the whole time. Views of rolling hills ahead and the vast expanse of canyon. The trail is not very well marked beyond the beginning, and the map will definitely bring you to the upper parking lot. There is a paved path to the lower lot (which gives access to the waterfall and swimming, easy hike to) and then there’s jump creek trail. Don’t go beyond the lookout sign. Steep hillside and no marked trail. Lots of loose rocks. The beginning of jump creek trail veers to the right up a steep hill and then continues for about two miles where it branches off to a few different paths. There looks to be a lot of opportunities for ATV riding off this trail. You could go for miles and miles if you follow them. If you follow my recording, there is a small loop at the top that has a beautiful lookout with mountains in every direction and a nice view of the backside of the canyon.

great views. Nice breeze on the top of the hills. Little bit of a steep short run to get up top but well worth the climb and not a struggle for anyone and have decent shape. Looping around to the bottom to see the falls is a treat.
