Nice easy short hike just outside of Kuna. Road out is a bit rough but doable in most vehicles. Would not attempt if raining. Views are pretty but not stunning.

One star for the hike, three for the views and historical significance. The road out there is extremely rutted for about 1/4 mile, so travel carefully.

a lot of trails to walk, not pretty flat ground and a cool mini-mountain to climb, whistle pigs are all over, it gave my dogs something to chase, so I didnt mind

Short. Road to the trailhead could be muddy and rough. Great view and interesting point of interest.

Interesting historic site. Worth checking out on the way south towards Swan Falls. Not necessarily a destination of its own! The service road that leads to base is very rough, I would recommend walking the 1 mile or so from the main road to get to the small hill. Be sure to check out the nearby firemen’s memorial.

First to Review

The most interesting part of this hike was the surveying point at the end. Apparently, the marker is the “initial point” for all surveying in Idaho. The hike is a rocky road up to the top of a small hill. The rocks are interesting but it was very muddy. Not much to see but ground squirrels and native grasses. If you’re in the area and want to do a very short hike it works.
