Some sections are quite steep. Pretty good trail. Leg to Shirts not busy at all. More people on trail to Lost Lake.

HikingGreat!

This was a nice hike and will definitely do this again. Nice hike down to the lakes and gave my legs a little challenge on the way back, but nothing too extreme. The weather was beautiful with the exception of the smoke from the fires, which is why I would do it again to enjoy the view on a clear, smoke-free day. :) Road was a bit rough but worth it.

Beautiful hike. I thought it was actually pretty easy to stay on the main trail but I did use the app. The lakes were beautiful. Very smoky and would love to do it again without the fire inversions. I’ve been hiking about a year and found the way out a little hard but definitely doable taking a few breaks. The only downside for me was driving up about 10 miles driving on a rough washboarded dirt road.

The trail all the way to Lost Lake (the second lake) is more like 2 miles. 4 miles there and back. Well worth it to go there, though, as it is much prettier and accessible than Hidden Lake, which was surrounded with lily pads. Decent amount of shade throughout the hike...would concur with other reviews that said the trail was occasionally indistinguishable from other side trails...but you figure it out. (Or download the trail map). Elevation gain on the way back could be brutal at times for the less experienced hiker. But the scenery was spectacular and the climb is part of the journey.

BackpackingGreat!

The trail was great but needed the assistance of AllTrails map to get us through the first lake where there were a myriad of side trails. Other than that it was beautiful. The trailhead is across the road from where the parking lot is. The wildflowers were plentiful, definitely a calorie burn on the return. One thing that was disappointing was all the Tp left from previous campers. We gathered and burned what we saw, but please people “pack -in pack-out!!”

lots of downed trees and side trails but pretty easy to follow the main trail. Keep going to the second lake, it's worth it.

This was a really beautiful trail, but I wouldn’t rate it as moderate. It is hard. The trail can be hard to find, and at times it is a rocky scramble. I almost lost my balance several times. The second lake is only about a ten minute hike past the first one. The way back to the car kicked my butt so be prepared for a steep uphill.

HikingMuddyOff trail

Loved this trail! Make sure you download the map because some spots are hard to find due to tree fall. There was some snow at the beginning, but keep going and you’ll be just fine. The first lake is pretty but the second is beautiful!!

HikingSnow

(07/05/20) — Tried to drive up to this trail using the coordinates provided and a small section of the road close to the trail head was still covered in deep, slushy snow. Decided to turn around because my Subaru Crosstrek had a hard time making it through the slush. We found a nice, super easy, 1 mile (One way) hike to Blue Lake not too far down the road though!

HikingBugs

Beautiful hike, pretty flowers, beautiful lakes. A little buggy once you get there so bring bug spray. The way back has only three or four steep spots and besides those, it's a pretty simple hike. Prettiest one I've seen in the area so far. The one bad thing is that the trail isn't very straightforward. We got lost a few times and ran into some other people who were lost too. Good news is that there is phone service up there (Verizon at least) so I was able to find the trail with the alltrails app.

HikingSnow

Still lots of snow. We wouldn’t have made it to the lake if it weren’t for the alltrails location/map due to the trail being covered in snow for the first mile of the hike. So beautiful though, worth the trek and the drive had some great views! The drives over 12 miles on a dirt road up to the top of the mountain. The hike is 2 miles down to the lake and 2 miles back up, much easier I’m sure if we did it a month from now when the snows melted.

Hiked this trail today, or at least attempted to. It is still covered in snow. Only ended up hiking a 1/4 of it. Side note, the drive up to the trail head is a pain in the butt, but the views are gorgeous from the top once you arrive.

Hiking

Tried doing this hike in October 13th but the snow covered the trail and I was not able to find the path nor my footing so I gave up. I ended up doing the very easy hike around Blue lake close by. The view on that lake was gorgeous. Setting the hike to 3 stars since I cannot leave this empty to post a review.

I'll add some pictures, but they don't do the scenery justice. At all. This hike is gorgeous. I only made it to the first lake before turning around, but that lake was gorgeous. Like another reviewer said, the way back was MUCH more strenuous than the way in due to the hike back being all uphill. I took my time and admired the amazing scenery. I will absolutely be adding this to my list of regular hikes. I brought my dog and he did really well.

Beautiful hike! It was a little more strenuous on the way back just because the way there was mainly downhill. Went to the first lake, I believe was hidden lake.lots of frogs, our dogs loved it.
