This main thing about this trail is that is primarily used for horseback riding. It is a narrow dirt trail, and there is loose dirt and rocks especially along the hillsides and inclines, and horse droppings along the way. I would imagine during spring it would be ungodly muddy. It is slightly overgrown in places and would recommend long pants and stable footwear. The hike itself if mostly flat, there is some inclines but nothing too intense. There are pretty views of the lake and a creek that runs along the bottom of the canyon. There was also some annoying brown flies that would fly right for your face and land all over you if you stood still for too long. The trail is pretty well marked and easy to follow, you have to cross service roads at multiple points but there are trail markers that are easy to see. Overall I probably would not go back. I spent more time looking down to watch the trail for obstacles than I did enjoying the scenery. There are many better trails in the area more catered to hikers instead- it definitely is hikable- but I would not visit this unless you are desperately looking for a new spot to go. Hope this helps!
