Loved this trail. Lost it for a bit in the middle between the bigger hills. It’s impossible to miss the hot springs, just keep going. It’s a beautiful 2.5 ish walk to the hot springs. Encountered some interesting animals along the way. Great trail for pups! Caught a gorgeous sunset on the way out. Right before the trail ends, crawl up the side of the hill a bit to get a perfect view of the sun going down over the Vally.

Did this hike on Thanksgiving (Nov 22, 2018). Very easy hike. It was overcast the entire time, which was nice because the entire hike was through a burn area with zero shade. No snow on the ground at all, just dense clay/mud the entire time. The hot springs at the end were clearly visible as we approached, and you could see the steam over the last hill, and they are clearly marked by a big wooden fence that was constructed around them in a circle. Air temperature was probably about at freezing point, and the springs were very warm. The hottest pool was a little too hot initially but there's a big plastic pipe that you can use to redirect the water flow from the cold river into the pool. Lots of thick cyanobacteria / algae on the rocks where the hot water emerges, but the pool was clean enough to sit in. Stayed for about an hour, didn't see anyone else the entire time we were there. Overall it took about an hour to hike in and about half an hour to hike back to the trailhead. There was definitely wildcat scat on the trail, but I'm not sure if it was from a mountain lion or just a bobcat. Also saw some pretty big paw prints in the mud that looked fresh. Be on the lookout for forest cats.

Trail is in full sun. Early May the wild flowers are amazing, but the hotsprings are chilly due to high water. Check for thunderstorm possibilities. Being out in a burn with high winds and lightening may not be everyone's idea of adventure.
