City Creek Beginner Loop Trail is a 2.6 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Pocatello, Idaho that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from March until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Great little loop. Trail is a bit bumpy on the lower east side near the creek and becomes an absolute bike path once up on the bench to the west.
pretty slimy still, first 1.5 is pretty solid but then it's a foot game to stay out of mud and snow
Super muddy right now but still a beautiful hike. A lot of the trail is iced over too so I would recommend you bring your yaktrax.
This map does not show all routes available. As seen here I took my own path. Although not marked very clear path.
Love this trail hiked it a few times now. First time with my 4yo walking it. We went nice and slow great beginner trail and love how many options there are. This particular “loop” is starting at Grant St. Parking lot and going to bridge #10 (don’t need to cross it) then follow bench trail down (or vice versa). There’s an outhouse, when we went there wasn’t TP.
The ending of the loop comes down Bench trail which is more geared towards bikes, so the bike trails are a little confusing. No matter what, they will take you back and you'll be able to see where you need to turn back down to the creek
I would backtrack down City Creek trail rather than Bench. Bench trail is narrow and was harder to hike on. It was a good starter hike with my 3 year old though.
