Nice hike, a bit muddy after two days of rain but nice shady and pretty wooded trail. One spot has views of the lake in the distance

The trail was very poorly marked and not all of the information mlboards had a map to even help figure out where to go. I ended up getting lost and hiked 6.6 miles instead of 3.3. it was beautiful , bjt a bit frustrating not knowing where to go.

We got lost on the trails as it was not marked that clearly and the maps were missing at a few checkpoints, but it was exciting and fun and the scenery was gorgeous and mysterious

We had a few issues with this hike. Issue one: it was still SUPER snowy and very icy. Issue two: the trails are NOT marked so it makes it very difficult to know when you are at, and which trail you should be taking. If you are going, I would plan on getting lost and making a day trip out of it. We started on one trail and wanted to hike 2-3 miles and it was a 8 mile hike with a 1350 elevation gain.

Excuse my language, but FUCK! I went with a 7 yr old, and two 6 yr olds.. phone died took us four hours to complete, scared to death because I didn't know which way.. A suggestion: placing maps here and there that would be helpful, good thing I looked at the map before my phone died. Last hr had to give these kids a piggy back ride going down hill, went off trail and fell a few times and it was freezing cold! BUT can I say how proud I am of these tiny human beings! FOUR HRS of hiking for them! HECK YEA!

September - Late Summer If you've lived in Coeur d'Alene for any length of time, you probably already know that aside from Tubbs Hill this is one of the more popular hiking areas. Despite this, it was the first time I've ever hiked this mountain. Overall I was disappointed with this trail. For starters it is difficult to determine that exact trail to hike as there are several spur trails and not all of them are clearly marked. Not to mention that some of them are labeled "One way", but don't have a respective "Do not enter" sign, making it easy to go the wrong direction down a one way trail. As far as I can tell the trail is open to hikers, mountain bikes and dirt bikers, making it loud and very crowded and dusty. It gets a little more secluded and less worn further out, but we were still passed by dirt bikers. The scenery itself is nothing spectacular. The trail we followed didn't go to the peak, so the views may be worth it up there, but overall it is similar to a lot of other local trails, albeit a lot more crowded. Perhaps there is a better route to take, or maybe it is more enjoyable when mountain biking or dirt biking, and there is something to be said if you live nearby, but from a hikers perspective I'd rather spend my time elsewhere.

Great hike. (we actually went further up to intersection of trails 6&7) Nice views on the way up if you take time to look around ; ) Thought I'd have a better view of Hayden Lake at the top, but that wasn't the case. Nice shady descent was great
