The Canfield trails are the nearest hiking trails to my house, so they are my go-to hiking place. The views from any of the trails are good. These trails are heavily used by motorcycles and 4 wheelers, so don't be surprised to hear a few engines growl. These trails can get really dusty in the summer.

If you are unfamiliar with the trail network, it would not hurt to bring a trail map. The trails are not easy to follow in some places, and one wrong choice of trail branches can add some extra miles on your hike.

The trails are very muddy today.

This was a pretty hike, however it follows the dirt/gravel access road the whole way and there were far too many dirt bikes and you could hear them the whole hike. Would've been nice without dirt bikes.

it's very beautiful and there are many trails to choose from although we didn't find the outer loop that the description talks about we still went on another trail and it was a good 6 miles or so. so even if you don't find that one there are plenty others to chose from and enjoy. only warning is that some of the paths are very narrow and there are a ton of mountain bikers up there so you need to be careful I advise not hiking with music in just because you can't hear the bikers coming

All the Canfield Mtn hikes are both fun and challenging. Most trails are used primarily by dirt bikes and ATVs so the conditions can be pretty bad. The views more than make up for it.
