Depart from the Burgdorf Campground in route to the Salmon River. Travel on the Burgdorf Road to the Willow Creek Road and then to an old mine shaft and a camping area with an artesian well with potable water. From here you can take a "shortcut" on the Willow Creek ATV Trail to the Corduroy Road and followed it across Marshall Mountain to the Carey Creek ATV Trail. The Carey Creek Trail ends at the Wind River Bridge on the Salmon River. As you get closer to the river, a lot of black bear signs are seen. The whole ride is very scenic with the Salmon River, Ponderosa Pines, Tamarack, Lodge Pole, various fir trees, old burns, mountain meadows, clear streams, and extremely steep mountainous terrain.
