This is a nice trip at lower elevations (2800' to 4000') in the Owyhees. It is about a 40 mile round trip. The Castle Creek overlooks are spectacular with the vertical rock canyon walls and running water in the bottom. Two of the overlooks are where some type of rock mining operation was conducted. If you are lucky, California Bighorn Sheep may be spotted. Two small herds have been seen in this area. The ride is on BLM and State land except for the Brown's Creek Cabin. Almost all of the private property in this area has locked gates. If you ride in warmer weather, watch out for rattlesnakes!

This was not marked, no signs, no actual trails leading to this. The directions just lead to farm/grazing areas for livestock.

Great overlooks. Fun trail.

The road in was gravel and groomed. Markers were clear for roads and trails. Had a great time driving some easy to moderate roads. Road C600 was tight and ended abruptly after about 1.5 miles. If you don't want your rig scuffed up don't take the C600 road.
All in all it was a great set of trails.

We explored Castle Creek with the grand kids. Did a short ride. The roads were dry. It was a little breezy.Great time!

This is a wonderful area to explore and enjoy the breath taking vistas. It is a pretty easy ride for most anyone.

A great guide!
