Nice walk with the wife and dogs. A bit muddy so wear good shoes. Only saw a few other people in the area. The BLM is doing work around the trails so some are roped off.

Great hiking area with several trails in the area. This particular trail was closed down on Nov 5, 2020 for a logging/forest management operation in the area. Not sure when it’s set be back open.

Nice easy walking roads and trails in beautiful woods and open meadows. Some muddy areas but easy to get around. Far enough from the interstate to not be plagued with traffic noise. I went off the mapped trail and meandered all over the park. One of my favorite easy hikes.

March - Early Spring I hiked both this trail and the Blue Creek trail at the same time. Doing both together or just the Blue Creek Trail would be my recommendation. While you do get a decent view of the lake on this one, the trail is shorter and a bit more confusing. I got completely turned around at one point and was heading the completely wrong direction on a trail that wasn’t even listed. The actual trail I at first thought was just an overgrown road. Nothing really interesting on this one. There are much better trails out there that offer a better view of the lake, but if you are trying to ignore the crowd of Mineral Ridge, this might do.

I needed a hike that was close in, and not covered with snow. This was just right. The weather was perfect. The trail was great.
