A gorgeous ridge line hike with endless vistas in all directions. It is steep and mostly exposed and there are dozens of downed trees, but the scenery and solitude are well worth the effort. The return descent is tough on the knees - hiking poles recommended. The trail is very hard to find at the start and at various points throughout. Download a topo map or navigate by the excellent written instructions in Scott Marchant's book on Stanley day hikes.
