Trail wasn’t clear. Ended up just following the road. All up hill. Not bad, but not great.

Nice open dirt road that is also used by horseback riders. Following along the creek made for a bunch of great stop offs for our 12yo and 6yo to rest their legs. We are amateur hikers and found this trail to be sweat inducing but quite enjoyable. We didn’t make it to the end (went maybe 1/4 mile past the point where the smaller path leaves the road before turning back) but we will make it the whole way eventually!

This is an easy to moderate out and back trail. The trailhead is just off the main paved road up Howell Canyon. Trail starts as a logging road that parallels Howell Creek. In late May, the creek was roaring with snowmelt and everything was so green! Eventually the trail splits off to the right after logging roads branch twice to the left. Once on single track you cross the creek and hike through pine fir forest. The trail ends at Bennett Springs Campground and then you can turn around and hike back - it’s uphill going out but coming back it’s all downhill. Great springtime hike!

Beautiful, well groomed Trail. Easy for dogs, kids, or the elderly. 5 places along the trail where you can stop for the dogs to get a drink all of the beautiful Bennett Creek..

Bennett Creek to Bennett Springs Campground. This is a well maintained trail, and a beautiful hike! It takes you through some of the best wooded forest trails I've been through. It is great for dogs, and there are enough places the dogs can stop to drink at the creek, that it's not necessary to bring water for them. I've never passed other people hiking on this Trail, and I've gone several times. I have, however, seen a couple of people on horseback. The first half is mostly uphill, and it's kind of hard if you haven't hiked in a while.
