The North Shore Scenic Drive is a 27.6 mile moderately trafficked point-to-point trail located near Waialua, Hawaii that offers scenic views and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for road biking and scenic driving and is accessible year-round.
Great drive - good day trip from Honolulu, stop at the west end to see LOST filming sites near the airport; in summer snorkel at Shark Cove and jump off the Black Rock at Waimea Bay, check out the surfing meccas in the winter - Pipeline, etc. See Turtle beach and also check out the resorts like Turtle Bay. You can easily do this again and again, lots to do! Parking near the black rock is a pain; almost best to park across the street and pay $10, help the locals. Highly recommend this drive and stops!
The entire drive from Waialua to Kahana is beautiful, as is the rest of Rte 83, and most of O'ahu. The tropical scenery, mountains and ocean are views unlike anything on the mainland, and make me want to return for more. On this leg of ourtrip, we especially enjoyed Waimea Falls, Sunset Beach, and the Polynesian Cultural Center.
