Great loop trail through some lush forest. Saw some Kalij pheasant - the ones with the red head. Also some neat spots on the trail where you walk through a mini-gorge.

A great way to see steam vents without crowds, many steaming vents along this trail. I went counter clockwise from Volcano lodge. Stair case at beginning and end were a bit steep but very doable. I only saw one other person on thus trail, peaceful walk and nice overlook into the crater too.

Steaming bluffs. Where else can you see steam vents right by the trail. Some of them, if you take the trail to the left (clockwise around the crater) just appear out of nowhere as you go through the trees. This trail also intersects with the sulfur trail and crater rim trail. My advice is to get a trail map from the visitors center and go wild.
