A short hike to the base of Manoa Falls in the Manoa Valley in Honolulu, Oahu, the Manoa Falls Trail winds through a lush Hawaiian tropical rainforest filled with movie scene locations from Jurassic Park and LOST. The trail can be quite muddy, so proper closed toe footwear is recommended. Unfortunately, swimming is not allowed in the pool at the base of the waterfall but the views alone justify this easy hike. This area receives significant rainfall so check the weather before going to avoid flash floods. The trailhead is a short drive from downtown Honolulu and can be accessed at the end of Manoa Road. There is a $5 fee to park. Visitors might also be interested in the nearby Lyon Arboretum and Botanical Garden which preserves endangered Hawaiian plant species.

Beautiful creek with small rushing water areas leading all the way up to the beautiful waterfall with a swim hole! Although, there is a rope and sign that said do not cross over. The hike is uphill, steps, easy and with the scenery at the top!

Police is there, they will cite you if you cross the tape.

Great first impression of trails on the island. Had a mixture of refreshing rain and sunshine breaking through at various points. Numerous photo opportunities , especially at the end of the trail of a fantastic waterfall. Highly recommend for any skill level, although near the top it can become a little slick for elderly. I have had to help hold a few hands to ensure they see the view.

Little buggy but super fun!

This hike was great. The trail immediately takes you into the wilderness feel. It’s short, but the scenery, especially the large open area at the bridge, is the most beautiful I’ve personally ever seen.

we did this hike in the rain and the waterfall was great! I would not at all call this kid friendly- the top is eroded and required nimble feet and some climbing

Amazing trail that starts out easy but certainly is a little challenging as you get close to the waterfall.
Saw a few people with flip-flops which is not recommended.

You have to park in one of the parking before trailhead on your right, It’s $5 for fee. Trail is in very good conditions except at some points it gets muddy and slippery but not too bad. The day I did there were not a lot of people around but I read that this does get super busy. Such a beautiful place. Took me 25 min to get there and 20 min to get back to parking. Enjoy
Happy hiking

You are in a rainforest. So it will probably rain. Plan on it! $5 to park in the cafe parking lot. There is NO PARKING closer to the trailhead so that parking lot is the best and closest available. Beautiful place!

Nice trail with lots of people. Trail keeps getting wider with all the people getting off the main trail. Pool at the top is roped off but several people were in it. Nice place to cool off the feet. Took about 1.5 hours with multiple stops. I would recommend tennis shoes or better. It is somewhat slippery near the top.

Easy but beautiful hike. We took our time and a lot of pictures. You're not allowed to go in the water but everyone does. There's a lot of people in the late morning and early afternoon.

Easy and short hike to the falls! Views in the park are amazing but it was a bit to crowded, too many other tourists.

Beautiful!!!!!! Rained the entire hike, I love hiking in the rain. Muddy so wear water shoes or hiking boots. Easy hike. Gorgeous trees. Magical waterfall at the end. Took the bus from Oahu. Easy to find. Bring a towel so you can dry off skittle after the hike. Enjoy!!!

We got on the bus from Waikiki to Manoa Falls and the friendly bus driver showed us an alert to say that Manoa Falls was closed until further notice due to falling rocks in the area. It’s a shame, we would have loved to do the walk.

A bit muddy, but a relatively easy and enjoyable hike. Beautiful scenery throughout and a nice payoff at the end with the waterfall. As others have said...kind of crowded but I didn't mind.

Love this hike, that much I’ve hiked it every time I’ve visited with my family. You can Uber back and forth from Waikiki easily, which means you don’t pay the $5 parking fee. You need shoes, as it gets muddy, sunscreen and bug spray. It takes 30mins to hike to the 150ft waterfall, with a clear water pool. Bring/wear swim gear as you can cool off with the family, which really makes a great experience. Great for kids, dogs, families, groups and anyone which wants to see a rainforest and epic waterfall. Bug spray required ;-)

Beautiful. Quite easy for the most part, but get there early to beat the crowd.
