The trail is great for trail running and normally takes 1-3 hours. This route goes out to the picnic table / camping site, and the trail is in great shape.

Little muddy don’t wear slippers we have seen some slippers on the trail stuck to the mud lol my husband and I did this hike back to back this week and loved the waterfall. We actually climbed down the rock and got in the water took pictures and climbed back up if you don’t have upper arm strength then you can’t pull your self up so don’t go down if you can’t pull yourself up please. Definitely a nice workout.

keep right and look for the pink ribbons that guide you through the trail! The waterfalls are beautiful, with clear water and two ropes to swing into the water.

We really enjoyed this hike. The full trail is probably closer to 7 miles. We turned around at 3 miles (from the beginning, not the split to the falls).

A fun hike that is well marked, easy to follow and gradually builds until the top. Decent elevation for sightseeing for those looking to get good views and gradual enough to trail run or bring the dogs. For those not looking to do a difficult trail, but still wanting the feel and great views of the Hawaiian rainforest, this hike is an excellent choice.

Trail is pretty on point as long as you go when it’s not raining that week! It’s all downhill ends at a pond that’s swimmable. The hike up is a WORKOUT be prepared for that other than hat had no complaints. Hard to get lost

I went after a pretty rainy week, so it was very muddy and a bit hard to navigate. It made for a great work out, though!
Be mindful of where you are so that you don’t get lost! Then benches are perfectly placed for some beautiful views, and there are lots of birds to see and listen to.

12/30/2017-Started around 0811 (street parking was kind of sparse so it took a little while to find a spot) and came across 5 groups on the ridge portion of the trail and another 9 on the shared stretch with Waimano Falls. Weather was pretty good because it was overcast most of the time with some breeze. Trail did get pretty muddy after the 2.5 mile marker and involved some rope climbing to reach the end (which doesn’t have an end of trail marker anymore). However the views were pretty awesome!

Awesome views. Take plenty of water & snacks, trail is long. Be sure to follow the paths & smile for the random game cameras located along the trail.

If you like it long and hard, this is the one for you. Bring more water than you think you'll need, and wear/bring pants if you plan to summit. Should also start early. The ripe guava in August were very nice.

Easy early on with steady elevation gain. About 4 miles into it the trail gets more difficult with lots of ups and downs and several sections with ropes for climbing. Beautiful views. Only encountered one other individual on the trail all day.

Awesome, quiet, medium intensity, steady elevation gain, great views!

Long trail, not too hard at all. Go passed the old sign that says it's closed due to landslide. The trail was fine. Wear a hat and sunscreen on a sunny day. Spikes are useful for the rope sections.

Convenient location. Great ridge hike varied surroundings decent view and elevation but not the best. Got lost for a couple hours don't miss the left arrow sign. Ignore the mudslide warning sign there is a new obvious oath over that park.

Fun, shady hike that a nice reward at the end. The pro of going when hasn't rain is that the trail isn't muddy, but then the waterfall is pretty small. It was still a cool little area to hang out and jump into the water though!

This is an easy to follow hike. It is well marked. Great views along the way. Eventually you'll come to three ropes to use to help you up. I used them because it was very slippery. I'd recommend starting earlier in the morning. I started at 10 and was done at 1254. But I'm a beginner.

Good fun trail, love it

Thursday, October 06, 2016

The full trail is 10-11 miles if you want to see the summit. Hike is easy for the first 3 miles, then you will hit the rope climbs and sketchy muddy paths. I was glad to have been using hiking poles for balance. I haven't made it to the summit but plan to when I have at least 7 hours free. I made it to the 4th mile before I hit my time limit and had to turn back. 8 miles in 4 hours.

Great hike but not for beginners or kids, my company did the summit hike and after we passed the 'this trail is impassible' sign we hit very narrow ledges and sketchy cliff side trails. About an hour in it started raining and after all 80 of us had tromped and slipped our way through ankle deep mud we hit the summit and then had to make the trek back which was worse because you could no longer keep your footing. If you plan on taking this trail know that it is actually 11 miles if you hit the summit and back and if it rains you should be careful and possibly turn back.
