Easy trail. Little long, dirt/rocky trail-- totally worth it, BEAUTIFUL beach. White sand and blue water
Loved walking around and taking in the scenery. It's a bit of a hassle to get to since you have to drive through a lava field with a road that is kind of bad. I suggest having a truck or SUV.
Beautiful beach. Hike was hot but worth it.
Beautiful beach. Hike was hot but worth it. Be careful of the strong current and large waves.
It was a nice easy hike. we went early, cause there s all lava rocks at first, and no trees, so it is really hot. When you get to the beach, the contrast between the rocks and the sand is amazing. We took lunch, made a picnic, spend the day on the beach, really calm blue water, you can snorkel too. And then, before 6, that s when the gate closes, we went Back. Awsome day!! Excelent landscape for pictures.
it was a nice hike out and back...the trail over the lave was a little rough. could not believe the people trying it in shower shoes. if you take this walk wear shoes for walking you can take them off once you get in the sand.....
This was an amazing beach to walk to. It is a bit longer than you would expect and my wife and I would suggest hiking it in shoes. Most of the path is not bad but there was a good stretch where you are walking on a lava trail. we did it in flip flops and it could be a recipe for a bloody toe if you were to slip. Go early and get a good spot as it seemed many people showed up after 11-12 ish. Park right next to the gate it will save you a few hundred feet or so. Have fun and pack out what you pack in :)
