Very decent hike. As per others who have commented on it, it is far better to start on the other end as it is more well defined. If you do this the gate is near the private community on the right. It is muddy/slippery so be prepared. look for the trail markers to define the trail. however, we recommend you take the road back to where you parked because if the trail is wet you will slip. Also the trail head (where all trails takes you) is right behind someone's house which is is not in the aloha spirit to be traversing
