Parking for the trail available at the Na Pueo Park. DO NOT park at the school that is just past the park. This route will take you along the east ridge of the Kapalama Trail (the west ridge is not as maintained and alot of bushwhacking may be needed) and ends at the summit of Lanihuli. The first 1.5 miles is in a pine forest as it follows the ridge, eventually leading to a little more exposed ridge line with scattered guava. The last 0.5 miles becomes steeper and has a couple rope sections. When the summit is clear, get great views of K1/K2 and the Bowman ridgeline

Parked at the Na Pueo Park, and headed up the Kapalama Trail to the Lanihuli summit. Pouring rain today for the first couple hours and clouds at the top...will have to do this hike again when it is clear. Even with all the rain, the trail was not muddy at all which made the hike more enjoyable.
