Please obey all posted signs. This trail is on government land, as evidenced by the numerous 'No Trespassing' signs and cameras along the trail. This is an easy hike down a gravel road to a beautiful waterfall with a swimming hole along the way.

Nice little hike, easy to navigate since most of the trail is paved or well-traversed. It’s a little sketchy because there’s “No Trespassing” signs everywhere, but a local who lives in the neighborhood said everyone goes anyways. We had great weather, but as soon as we left it looked like the rain clouds were rolling in. Trails could get slippery very fast!

FYI - A local resident put a self-serve vending machine in their front yard, so if you forgot a drink, seek that out!

Great easy trail with an amazing waterfall at the end! Second half was a little steep but nothing a hiking newbie couldn’t handle. It is on private property but as long as you’re respectful it isn’t a problem.

Not too difficult, but definitely you will need a hiking boots. Gets slippery after the rain. No scenic views, since you are going through the woods. However the waterfall is amazing.

First half of the hike is easy and the hills get relatively steep for the second half. The waterfall is worth the trek.

There are two main falls in this area- Hamama and Waihe’e. Hamama is quite straight forward to get to as it is at the end of the trail. To get to Waihe’e, look for a flat area followed by a large banyan tree on the right. Traverse down to the right and cross the stream.. There you will see a trail to the right that follows the stream then up and over a small ridge till you hit Waihe’e Falls. You can also climb to its upper falls.

This was a pretty cool hike. We did this with the little guys (7 & 4) in slippas with ease. The pool is cool but if it’s crowded just go a few more steps up the trail to the bridge and get in there. Not as deep but just as refreshing. The waterfall was worth the hike. Go early to ensure you have some time to yourself. It gets pretty crowded midday. Nice way to spend a Sunday with ohana!!

Awesome place and with a nice swimming area. Unfortunately I lost my knock off go pro there and am more concerned with losing all the great pictures I took than the camera itself. So if anyone finds it u are more than welcome to keep the camera I just want the memory card. (contour camera)

My favorite workout spot!!

Probably my favorite waterfall on island. The pool at the beginning of the trail is so clear and refreshing. The hike up is not very shaded. It is a great hike for experienced children hikers.

Awesome little hike, the falls is awesome and very unique, BUT, the real treasure comes early in the hike as there is a nice little pond to swim in.

Easy, but on rainy days might get too muddy and slippery. Beautiful and short trail with a nice waterfall at the end. Great for families and pets, too.

Nice short hike with a good scenic photo opp and decent water falls, if you soon after a rain. Took my five year old and she didn't have any issues. Hard gravel pack on entire trail.

Good hike for groups with various skill levels. The trail is wide but does have some steep grades. Wear good shoes. The falls were thick since it had recently rained. Some pics uploaded showing trail entrance and places throughout. Be respectful of the residential neighborhood.

Fairly easy, wide trail. Small waterfall at the top is fun to dunk your head in and the pool near the bottom is a great way to cool off.

Such a good hike!! We did it today and it rained (not too hard) on and off the entire time. Parking is along the side of the residential road. Please don’t park in front of any mail boxes or driveways, be mindful of people that live here and walk quietly to the trail head. Trail begins at the dead end of the road at the “do not enter, Federal property” sign. Go around the left side of the fence and follow the main gravel/dirt/mud road all the way to the falls. Don’t venture off the road onto any tiny side trails, most of them are monitored by cameras and don’t lead to the Hanauma falls. There is a swimming hole at a clearing to the left about half way to the falls. People jump in but it is monitored by cameras as well. There is another set of smaller falls to the left of the large Hanauma falls, or at least there is when it’s raining like today. Such a nice easy hike!

This is a beautiful hike! So many pretty plants and trees. The stream that runs along is beautiful too with a pond many swim in. The waterfall is beautiful and peaceful. Trail was well traveled and in pretty good shape. Would be muddy if raining.

Hiked yesterday. Perfect family friendly trail for hikers of nearly all levels. Brought two babies in front pack. Slight hill to get the cardio going but nothing too difficult or very long. Beautiful mountain and forest views. The waterfall was raging and beautiful. We stopped and took photos and it only took us about 2 hours. Great way to acclimate to the Hawaiian heat and temperatures without getting overtired or too hot.
