Loved this hike! A bit muddy but doable.

Crazy muddy hike to the benches lookout without special views after you leave Pololu beach. You will be wet and dirty. Better you should stay on the beach!

Great hike with lots of interesting and beautiful scenery. We accidentally hiked to Honokane Iki instead of stopping at Honokane Nui. Probably best to stop at Nui lookout as taking it all the way to Honokane Iki is difficult.

Great hike. Was a bit muddy but nothing too crazy. Didn’t see a waterfall, but the views were amazing!! Make sure to hike to end of trail (don’t stop after just the first half mile)

Awesome place. Steep rocky/muddy switchback to enter Pololu Valley. Black polished medium/large lava rock beach, with black sand dune covered forest right behind it. Many campsites located in the forest, although camping is not technically "allowed." Hike past the beach and up a trail (trench-like looking entrance) to climb the far side. This part of the trail was really muddy and slippery when we went, but very fun. At top it get less steep and trail improves drastically. There are two benches to sit at located at the end of my gps route, these overlook Honokane Nui Valley. There is supposedly a route down, but I didn't take it. Return same way you came up.

Note: There is not an easily accessible water source (even with filters), so pack in enough water to sustain you and your fellow companions. Our three person group with small dog used around 10 liters over 26 hours.
