Wilburn Farm and Cascade Trails Loop is a 3.4 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Atlanta, Georgia that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, and nature trips and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
A well-maintained trail route through Arabia Mountain Park. Quiet trails for walking and hiking. Lots of wildlife as well.
Parking at starting point. Port-a-potty facility
Couple things the trail head is Evan Mills Ruins. So putting that in the GPS should get you there. The parking lot is small went once had to wait for parking. Second time no one. The trail is free parking no fee. The abandoned farm area is pretty but it’s close to a gun range so I heard gun shots the whole hike. So if you have a dog that is scared of fireworks etc that’s something to consider. Otherwise a great place close to city.
Didn’t see a single other person on a Sunday eve. Pretty quiet trail even just a mile in. Some creeks and ponds, one big open field, a couple diff scattered house ruins. Saw a few long white tailed deer. A good mind clearing hike.
The two best areas are the cascades (immediately to the right when you enter) and the old farm/homestead (turn left on the orange trail after walking about 1/2 mile on the paved path). Those areas get four stars but the paved section is fairly average. It’s a good easy family friendly hike though with a chance to go in the water at the cascades.
The trail is very long and and amazing and natural love it gonna go everyday if I can.
I rate this trail as compared to others in the Atlanta area. Quite. Easy hiking. Nice flow of the terrain. Will be back.
Amazing trail! Once I got off the paved trail and headed towards to old house and barn I didn't see a single person the entire time out there and was able to fully explore the area. I will be going back to this one! It can be a little strenuous is areas and wet in others so keep that in mind too!
Easy, well-marked and maintained trails not far from Atlanta. Not too crowded. Recommended for a quick, rewarding getaway from the city.
Loved it! Great trail, pretty well marked. Saw some deer and the lake and rivers were beautiful
Fantastic quiet walk through the woods. Very well-marked trail with diverse scenery (river, pond, woods, abandoned farm house/barn, mountain view) and few people. One of my favorite Atlanta area hikes. .Bring bread to feed the fish in the pond!
