Entrance to the park is $5. This loop is great: east side has beautiful overlooks (closer to the north they get less beautiful - you start seeing town in a valley), north side has no overlooks. I would recommend to take extra 2miles to the south to the Main Trailhead for the most beautiful overlooks.

Great trail! Everyone was smiling and having fun. Dogs all on leashes too!

Awesome hike from the Cloudland walk-in campsites. We started the trail from the campsites, completing the loop portion only (not from the waterfall area), which totaled 2.8 miles. Mid-May and the trail was busy but not too crowded. Well maintained! The lookout platforms were the highlight of the hike. Everyone we encountered was friendly and had their dogs on a leash.

Camped at West Rim campground site 16. Walked up two camp sites which connected to west rim trail. It was a beautiful trail and lots of overlooks. Very dog friendly!!

Took about an hour and a half, lots of scenery. Definitely one of the less travelled trails at Cloudland Canyon.

Great trail.

We stayed at walk-in site 16 and hiked straight from our tent to the loop. Had our 8 & 11 year old girls with us and it was a blast! Went left and did the hard part first which is what I suggest! Beautiful hike.

Good trail. Being views.

Great hike as long as you start from the right parking lot. We started by the East campground, which is a significant longer loop. This section of the trail was quite nice.

Beautiful trail through forest with stunning views of Cloudland Canyon. The trail is very well marked, and segments of it are lined by packed clay, rock or sand (no gravel!), but some sections have lots of criss-crossing tree roots that require your attention so that you don’t trip. If you travel the trail clockwise from the access, the return ascent is gentler than when going counter-clockwise, but either way, the climbing segments are generally very gradual and easy. Enjoy!

This was an good trail and would do it again on a less busy day. Not too muddy, nice bridges over creeks and a good workout at the end coming out of the canyon. We went on a Saturday and the parking lot was packed and there was significant traffic on the trail. Even so, the trail is beautiful in the fall and we identified some cucumber magnolias that I’m sure would be even nicer in bloom! What an interesting canyon, you could go to the edge and see people on the other side or just look down at the foliage and at this time of year, the colors are striking.
