This trail is fun but pretty poorly marked. We got lost a couple of times. But enjoyed some awesome rock climbing to get back onto the trail. It’s a great hike if you want to hammock along the way too. Trail itself is easy but if you make your own it can be quite challenging but fun!

beautiful Scenic experience on the Chattahoochee but a bit of gravel to deal with. Nice combination of elevation and soft dirt with some rock climbing

The trails are not all marked on the maps throughout the trail accurately, but overall, great trail. Nice views, shade, some rough terrain, nice river spots, cool looking rocks, etc.

The trail starts with 0.37 miles of paved path if you park at Paces Mill (which you should because it’s a huge lot) but don’t let that fool you this trail is definitely moderate with a decent amount of rocky hills one you get off the paved part. Speaking of, once you get off the paved road there are a lot less people- I saw maybe 10. The bathrooms at wp 11 were very clean and nice- they even had a water bottle fountain. Be aware that the trail shown in the app has a cut through from wp 7 to wp 8 that does not actually exist in real life- but if you want to go off trail its not too bad right there (beware the spider webs). The river was high today due to the rain last night, there were a few blowdowns but it wasn’t very muddy or washed out.

We hiked the "unofficial" (but on the map) trail from the Akers parking lot on a Friday in July, around 11 am. The trail is well-marked and maintained. I feel like we covered most of the trails, but my GPS only read 5 miles. There are plenty of places to stop and walk down to the water, maybe hang a hammock. Most of the trail is shaded, even a good bit of the asphalt portion. We did see a black snake cross our path, but I think that's supposed to be better than a black cat. A decent amount of hills to be interesting, but not especially challenging. We saw 12 people, 4 dogs, 1 deer.

nice little walk along the river, wish there were more spots to access the water.

Nice urban locale along the River. Trail needs some maintenance due to all the heavy rain this spring, a lot of re-routes. Pleasant hike.

Great trail with definitely good hills both up and down. Nice views of the river in parts. Great shade. Really enjoyed our 4.5 hike!

Nice moderate hike on a well marked trail. Only got a little tricky with determining the trail on one part, but All Trails map saves the day. No bugs and nice mix of shade and sun.

West Palisades beats East Palisades when it comes to getting to the river and shear beauty.

Trail was beautiful!! The river is pretty low right now, which means you can see the bottom of the river. It is so clear today! Definitely try this trail out!

Great out-and-back trail w/lots of variance in incline level & types of path & gorgeous views of the churning river. 1st quarter-mile in either direction is fairly heavily trafficked but that tapers off quickly once the path becomes loose rock.

Pretty steep overall. Very enjoyable and not as difficult as it looked if going at an easy pace.
